Sorry for temporarily diverting the topic from the Davits, but I've spotted a detail that has gone unnoticed. Your propeller shaft need a support near the propeller itself, right now the system is quite fragile.

The supporting struts for the propeller shafts are pretty much the same for all ships, beign them powered by one, two, three or for screws, beign them frigates or carriers.
Perry, Kidd, Burke, Cleveland, Wichita, Missouri, Enterprise.
Here are some examples, it should be fairly easy and quick to compare the setup and improve your ship.

Should I move the smaller boats one level higher and have them sit on top of the platform?

EDIT: I edited my other destroyers with the shaft support thing, but I forget it for this ship. I'll edit it later.

Added some more history! This can also be read on the front page! The map was also updated, which details the names of the islands, straights, provinces and shipyards.

[ img ]

Nearby patrol vessels and other naval units were for the most part confused and conflicted on how to react to the attack. For the first two days the Antaran warships and fleets were largely inactive and failed to formulate any plan or counter attack. Submarines how ever began to target Japanese and Koko vessels a day later. Twelve submarines engaged enemy ships around the islands and scored multiple hits and several confirmed sinkings over the course of a week. But without knowing whether their ports were safe, the eventually had to disengage after most of the submarine force had run out of ammunition and torpedoes. From then on the submarines were used to scout friendly water and identify any enemy forces. The straits were clear for the most part, save for a few enemy destroyers bombarding coastal areas.

Japanese planes remained a prominent threat and were constantly attacked ground installations. It was very evident at that point that the Antaran Army was hard at work keeping the enemy at bay. The Antaran Army was more advanced than their Japanese counterparts and had the home ground advantage. If it hadn't been for Japan's air and naval power, Antara would have pushed back Japan's ground forces in a matter of days. Fighting was fierce and Japan slowly made progress.

The Antaran navy finally decided, two weeks after the first attack, that they were going to try and fend off the enemy warships. Japanese carriers were still in the region, evident by all the aeroplanes. Antara had a massive disadvantage. Most of her ships were poorly equipped to fight enemy aircraft. The Antaran Airforce could only hold out for a while, as most of her airfields were destroyed and they lacked planes and pilots to use them. Antara's few amount of carriers were far out at sea and unable to help out.

The Antaran navy came in from the North and sailed through the Rika straight and easily sinking all enemy ships travelling in the area. Most of the country's inner shipyards were damaged by previous bombardments, but weren't under siege. Japan's ground forces had only invaded beaches on the West side of the country. Japanese submarines had fired torpedoes and damaged three cruisers, but were picked off by destroyers fairly quickly. Four weeks had passed passed since the attack and recon had report Japan's fleet was still miles off shore from Port Corusca and Port Morgan, and the carriers were with them.

The navy was still having frequent problems with enemy fighters and bombers. Airstrikes had so far counted for half the fleets losses and since the navy had returned, they had lost seven more ships. By then Antara had requested assistance from the Allies, but only Australia could support them, and with only relief efforts. The support was denied by the Antaran government, afraid that the Australian ships wouldn't even reach them before getting intercepted.

Patrol vessels helped keep smaller Japanese ships from reentering the straights, while Antara's larger ships were in port for repairs and refits. Submarines were, at the time, the post active ships during the war so far. The submarines were largely successful in sinking larger vessels like battleships and even an escort carrier, but most were eventually sunk only two and a half months after the first strike. Ships still rolled out of the shipyards and the fleets continued to engage one another for a half a year, but cities began to fall as the Army couldn't keep the ruthless Imperial Army away. Most of Wes Island had been conquered and no amount of naval support could keep them at bay.

Early 1941

The fight had arrived at the county's capital of Entarro and close quarters fighting continued for more than half a year. Most of Antara's civilian population had been drafted and gladly fought and died in a vane effort to halt the Japanese advance, but were eventually forced to surrender. By then Noord Island had also fallen, along with the navy's largest shipyards. Construction had halted and the navy could no longer resupply. Antara's remaining naval forces had already packed up as much military equipment as they could and made their escape weeks after Entarro became under siege. The retreat was shameful and moral was already destroyed by this point. The army had fought bravely but were ultimately obliterated. The navy had just over a quarter of it's warships still active, and most had made their way to American and Australian waters. The US and Australia had gladly allowed the remaining Antaran vessels to dock at their ports, and unload their remaining equipment and surviving soldiers.

Antara had just over 11,000 foot soldiers still alive at this point. Morale was a myth, and most had no desire to return, but all wanted revenge. They had left all their families to suffer the brutal Japanese occupation. Antara had lost half of it's civilian population thanks to collateral damage. Although treatment of civilians was very poor, life had continued regularly under the new occupiers. Thanks to rather unmentionable activity initiated by the Japanese occupying force, birth rate saw a sharp increase was even enough to slightly bump the local demographics.

The Nina class destroyers were a large batch of ships designed in 1917 and finished in 1919. These vessels had more emphasis on speed. What they lacked in armor and artillery, they made up for in torpedo firepower.

By 1930 however, these ships were already outperformed by Antara's newer designs and were mostly used as coast guard ships or merchant raiders.

Cassidy Class Destroyer

[ img ]

The Cassidy class destroyers were Antara's first dedicated destroyer design. This destroyer was only conceived following the trend of other designs from around the world, as the Antara had yet to find a use for the ship. Following World War One, Antara would later continue to design far more superior destroyers and thus these destroyers became very outdated and were all eventually scrapped before the Second World War came along.

Ships in class - Launched - Fate

Cassidy - 1913 - Scrapped 1934
Vadim - 1913 - Destroyed in collision with ARS Andrei 1915

Oswald - 1913 - Scrapped 1934
Meagon - 1913 - Scrapped 1934

I noticed you added a support bracket for your shafts. Good. However, you need to move it all the way aft till it meets the propeller coupling to the shaft. Right now - and especially with such high claimed speeds (37 knots etc),your propellers are going to simply vibrate or shake loose from their couplings, and simply drop down on the seabed. rendering your destroyers useless hulks!
