Republic of Yokosuka (Yokosuka Kyōwakoku)

Hi to all, I am new to shipbucket and after being inspired by BB1987's Republic of Koko I decided to create an AU nation of my own. I am very new to this shipbucket drawing and I am trying my best to learn, however as of this moment I am just taking existing designs and modify them as I dont have the skill yet to draw a fully original design. I give credit to all the work I borrow and I hope you will like my AU nation.
Background:
The Republic of Yokosuka is in an alternate timeline which deviates from ours at the end of WWII at 1945. Act which I am focusing on right now is going to focus around the Korean War, Act II will probably be mid Cold War and ACT III present day. The timeline will share many similarities with ours mainly in the military technologies development so a lot of real life weapons and equipment will be available and around the same time period. However the history is going to change drastically (haven't planned that far yet). For now I am just going to set up the universe before I put any ships up.

History:
1. End of the Second World War
With the defeat of the Japanese Empire in 1945 the United States was in charge of rebuilding Japan, the Japanese economy was devastated as a result of the war and required foreign aid to rebuild. Also during this time the Soviet Union is at the height of its power and its ideology of Communism was becoming a more popular idea among the devastated people of japan and other nations of the world. As the popularity of the ideology grew and the hatred against their American occupiers it all culminated into a massive rebellion at the mid of 1947.

2. The founding of the Republic of Yokosuka
In may of 1947 with American influence a revised Constitution was announced. The terms within the Constitution was hated by the people of Japan and this sparked the Great Rebellion of 1947. Rebels aided by ex-military members of the destroyed imperial Japanese army took control of important government institutions and members, seized airfields and major ports. Since Japan was demilitarized following the unconditional surrender in 1945 the US military forces stationed within Japan as a police force was ill prepared for the rebellion and went on a full retreat. The only major port which was not taken was the port of Yokosuka where it was the main hub of the US Pacific fleet and the US presence stationed in the area. The base commander along with the remaining Japanese government and with backing from the United States military established a provisional government and military force. This was the formation of the Republic of Yokosuka and the Yokosuka Military.

3. End of the Rebellion
In 1947 the international political situation was deteriorating with the Communist bloc and the West. Fearing a Communist takeover in the Asia-Pacific areas the US deemed its necessary to back the Republic of Yokosuka in retaking Japan. With material and military advisors flowing into the port a coalition of US and Japanese forces engaged in combat with the rebels. The war went on for 4 years and ended on July 13th 1951. The Republic of Yokosuka defeated the rebels and liberated the rest of Japan, the provisional government then officially created the Republic of Yokosuka and renamed the capital of Tokyo to Yoko.

4. The Korean War
In 1950 the Korean War started, North Korea invaded South Korea in an effort to unify the two koreas. Fearing another communist takeover in Asia the United States urged the UN to proceed with an armed intervention. The newly found ROY participated in the armed intervention though limited in military capability they still managed to send 8 destroyers and 2 regiments of around 4,000 men. 4 destroyers Fubuki, Harukaze, Suzukaze, and Shigure participated in the main striking force at the Battle of Inchon providing artillery support to ground troops. Arashio, Murasame, Shiokaze, and Yayoi were assigned to patrol and convoy escort in the Yellow Sea. In 1952 as the war continued YS Shouhou the ROY’s newest and only carrier was sent to the Sea of Japan to assist in ground support operations. Fierce fighting ensued all the way up to 1954 still a stalemate at the 38 Parallel, by 1955 Both sides were exhausted. However unknown to the allies with the soviets backing them, the Chinese and NK were amassing a massive assault force just north of the border. On June 13 1955 the NK and Chinese forces launched a massive offensive which caught the UN forces off guard. With resupplied units and new Soviet supplied T-54 tanks the NK forces pushed the UN all the way back to Pusan. By November of 1955 all remaining South Korean government and all allied forces evacuated from Pusan leaving the entire Korean peninsula to the communists. The Republic of Yokosuka was now alone as the most powerful free nation in the pacific.

5. Tensions grow in Europe
With the defeat of UN forces in Korea the Soviet Union continued to put pressure in Europe and announcing a friendship between the People's Republic of China and Democratic People's Republic of Korea. As the US recovers from the defeat in Korea and turns its attention toward Europe they signed an arms trade pact with the ROY. The US would trade weapons, equipment and technical assistance and leave the ROY to protect the pacific. While the US deals with the deteriorating situation in Europe.

History:
World War II changed the nature of naval warfare and showed that the Aircraft Carrier not the Battleship was the main striking power of a fleet. The Shouhou class fleet carrier was designed as a stop gap measure to bring air power to the fleet. After WWII all Japanese carriers were either scrapped, use as war reparations, or destroyed. With tensions growing and the start of the cold war it was imperative that the Japanese develop and produce a carrier for the defense of the nation. However with the damaged infrastructure and limited technological development capabilities it was decided to use a modified Taihou class design. Planning was started in 1946 and continued through the Great Rebellion the first and only ship of the class Shouhou was laid down in 1948. Construction was completed in 1951.

YS Shouhou was launched in August 12 of 1951 and went on to complete a 6 month long shakedown and training period. By February 1952 she was officially commissioned into the fleet and ordered to Korea as her first mission. Upon arrival to Korea she assumed overall command of ROY naval forces in the area and was the command ship of the 1st and 2nd Destroyer Expeditionary division. She participated in air support operations and air patrols alongside UN forces. Since it has been around seven years since the Japanese last operated a carrier, the Korean war acted also as a testing/training ground for carrier operations in the jet age.

Design:
The Shouhou class is a modified WWII Taihou class design with an angled deck and three aircraft elevators, it also has two steam catapults for aircraft launching. She still retained the armored deck from the Taihou, overall layout, and general anti-aircraft armament placement. In the design it has incorporated many American designed systems and parts such as boilers, radar systems, and 5in fire control systems. For radar she is equipped with US licenced SPS-17 2-D air search, SPS-10 surface search, SPS-21 surface/navigation, and SP/SM higher-finder radar. For fire control she has two Mk 37 directors with Mk 12 ranging radar, and two older manual rangefinders and optics as backup. Her armored hangers is comprised of two large hangars divided in the middle with a fire door to stop the spread of fire, and also equipped with multiple automatic fire extinguishers throughout. As of 1954 she had an air wing of 65 aircraft, 30 of the new American bought F9F Cougar jet fighter, 30 reproduction B7A Ryusei modified for an attack role, and 5 spare aircraft. Her air wing complement consisted of 120 pilots all of which were trained in the United States.

It seems that your image host has resized the image. Once you figure that out, then we can talk about the design itself.

It's not resized, but saved as an jpeg. Therefor it is full of pixel errors.
So @Shinano, I'm affraid you have to do it once again and save it as png.

It seems unlikely the hangar could be that deep into the hull. The elevator, as placed now, gives the ship very little freeboard and makes that the elevator opening will weaken the ships structure considerably. I do recommend putting the hangar higher up and rounding the openings to make the design a lot more plausible.
