Strongly agreed on all counts. A single SeaRAM, plus some middling air-search set, is really more than enough. The goal should be cheap and cheerful.

So, for chasing something like a midget sub, something on the order of an ASW-equipped FAC or PC would be more appropriate? 40-60 meters long, rather than 90-100?

Don't think in terms of hull size, think in terms of systems. Steel is cheap.

I am editing it and making a Air Defence version and thinking on General Purpose / land attack version. I dont know what kind of propeller to use on the subhunter version.

Updated version (without the propeller changed) of the Subhunter.

Okay, so systems-wise:
  • Littoral-compatable Sonar
  • Close-Range ASW Weapons (Depth Charges, ASW Mortars, SV Torpedoes)
  • Perhaps Long-Range ASW Weapons? (ASROC)
  • Decoys
  • reduced noise propulsion/systems
That sound right?

For the ASW version
 :o
Inthinkable to see depth charge in "air" storage aft, simply on fligth deck (extremely dangerous).
Even a only one north korean snipper, with a powerfull good rifle (maybe a 12,7mm long caliber rifle), can be destroy this entire ship by ignitiate aft depth charge

are dept charges even in use today? I can't think of an ship equipped with it.... but I can be wrong... wouldn't an mortar do the work easier and better, without the dangers of exposed dept charges??
