Battleships

Refit images coming soon!

The three South Carolina saw use during the first year and a half after the attack on Pear Harbor in 1941. South Carolina and one of her sister ships were docked at San Diego at were put into service 2 weeks after the attack. Unlike most other pre-war battleships in the US at the time, the South Carolinas never underwent refits and were in the process of being decommissioned. The US was hasty to counter attack the Japanese and this two South Carolinas were deployed to islands around Papua New Guinea, along with several other destroyers, cruisers and battleships that have been temporarily put together to engage IJN forces in the region.

USS Michigan was stationed at Virginia and was in dry dock, also in the process of decommission, but was undergoing a refit 4 weeks after the Pearl Harbor attack. Once her refit was complete, she joined the Royal Navy and other US forces in the Atlantic.

USS South Carolina

After being deployed alongside to Papua New Guinea with her sister ship and other naval units, she saw extensive use from late 1941 to late 1942, where she sank 8 Japanese warships during a total of 7 battles around assorted groups of islands in the Bismark sea. She was credited for sinking 2 battleships, 5 cruisers and a destroyer. In mid 1942, she received critical damage from enemy battleships and was in dry dock for longer than usual. During her time undergoing repairs at Pearl Harbor, she and her sister ship underwent refits and was deployed once again to the Bismark sea.

South Carolina was able to sink the Japanese battleship Kawachi in a head on battle, but suffered serious damage as a result and sank hours after the engagement.

*USS Wisconsin

Wisconsin was one of two sister ships to the South Carolina and fought alongside her in the Bismark sea. She saw notably less combat than her sisters and often missed out on fights due to outperformed by nearly all other battleships in the US pacific fleet. She was credited to sinking two destroyers and one escort carrier. After her mid-1942 refit she sank two light cruisers before being torpedoed by a Japanese submarine.

USS Michigan

Unlike her sister ships, Michigan entered the war slightly later and at a different theater of war, the Atlantic. She performed more or less the same as her Pacific fleet counterparts, even after her refit. Most of her fleet engagements took place in the North Sea and surrounding areas. Michigan scored five confirmed kills; one German battleship, three light cruisers and a destroyer. She was sunk much earlier in the war, in early 1942, by a German U-boat.

The Delaware class was a class of two battleships that saw extensive use throughout the whole of World War 2. Both ships were among the fleet that was put together two weeks following the attack on Pearl Harbor, in 1941. Both battleships were refitted twice during the first half of the war and repaired numerous times because of the amount of battles they took part in.

USS Delaware and USS North Dakota

Delaware was deployed alongside North Dakota to the Bismark sea from 1941 to mid 1942. Both ships were credited for sinking several enemy warships before their fleet sailed north towards the Philippians were they were in battle for much of the following years, 1943-1945. During the engagements in and near the Bismark sea, Delaware sank one cruiser and one light cruiser, while North Dakota heavily damaged a battleship. Both ships only suffered minor damage and received repairs in early 1942, in Pearl Harbor. Like most ships returning from the Bismark sea, they underwent much-needed refits.

Most of the refits accounted to adding better AA armament. Both ships broke from their original temporary fleet and joined another to fight the IJN east of the Philippians. Fleet engagements happened often as the US fleets frequently encountered task forces and carrier groups in the region. Around late 1943, after attempting to stop a Japanese invasion of the Philippians, both ships were heavily damaged and the fleet suffered many losses. The engagements in the region also led to considerable losses for the IJN aswell. By then, Delaware had sunk a battleship and four cruisers. North Dakota was engaged in a heavy artillery duel with three heavy cruisers, before being torpedoed and forced to withdraw from the fight.

In early 1944, the fleet stationed near the Philippians retreated. The Delaware class ships were in dry dock for half of the year, undergoing repairs, refits and repaints. In late 1944, they were redeployed to the Java sea in an attempt to delay Japan's invasions. A battle followed after their deployment while en route, and North Dakota was sunk by land based aircraft and Delaware was left slightly bruised. However the fleet she was part of also suffered losses and were forced to dock in Australia for a week for repairs. They resumed their operation, fighting in minor skirmishes along the way and eventually arrived in the Java sea. Fighting was intense in mid-1946 and Delaware fought in several heated battles, but only sunk total of four ships, two battleships and two cruisers, before she herself was ultimately destroyed by surface fire.

Democratic Republic of Antara

Brief Timeline

Sorry for the crappy history, but I just rushed it so I can start drawing some ships ;)

-Colonized in 1608 by the British. Established as a trading post and a critical stopping point between Africa and America. The constant influx of trading vessels caused the population to grow rapidly. Slave trading was ripe and often conducted on the newly formed Antaran Colonies.

Antara was a large provider of produce grown from farms and plantations, as well as ores mined from it's mountains.

-1801 Slavery is abolished and slaves of African decent are given full legal rights under the eyes of the local Antaran government.

-1807 Antara became a state of the United States and is independent from the British Empire.

-1861-1865 American Civil War. Antara sides with the Union against the Confederacy.

-1869, Antara becomes independent from America and is formed into a democratic republic. Laws passed allow for severe punishment for major crimes, including execution or life imprisonment, this makes crime rate significantly low. Education standards are much higher and military and health care spending increases. Due to frequent tropical storms on the East side of the country, demand for people to join the coast guard goes up.

-1914-1918 World War One. Antara assists the Royal Navy in the Atlantic and fights alongside the Allies in France.

-1939-1945 World War Two. Britain, France and Antara declare war on the Axis in 1939 in response to the invasion of Poland. The Antaran Navy battles the Italian and German navy until late 1942, before focusing more of it's efforts in the Pacific.

-1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Antara played a critical part in this crisis by providing recon on the Russian fleet movement through the Atlantic and sided with the United States when they thought nuclear war was eminent. The Navy and Airborne was on standby and Antara's four ICBMs were activated and ready to launch.

To be continued and such.
