I working on the bridge...
I am thinking to use British radar equipments because it happened that HMS Manchester Commander tryed to scuttle the ship without success because Italian units pushed to low waters giving the opportunity to Italian engineers to get and study the british electronic equipments...

any suggestions?!?
Yea good idea, I might have a second. When the Prince of Walles and the Repulse sunk, the Japanese tried to salvage the radars ( they tried in real life, but failed) and send them too Germany aswell!

Forget the Super-"Yamato," the H-45 is the ultimate warship! :o

I can only imagine what an ariel view would reveal...

This is an amazing project! My AU (WIP) is playing around with the idea of this becoming an actual or never-were design, not just a fancy one that is in the imagination. I have a few questions, mainly about the hybrid sub/S-Boat tender, as well as the aircraft carrier role it plays.
–Is the hanger located inside the hull and how many aircraft would it, in your opinion, operate?
–Would the sub have minor repair facilities?
–And how would the S-Boats get in and out of the water basin?

If you manage to answer the questions, thanks.
And again, This is possibly tied for the most ambitious projects I've seen on the board, especially after look around for a few weeks.

yesterday I was "playing" around this project and it's time to complete...

Here is the actual status... At least I defined her name: Ragnarok

about SrGopher's questions:
first of all this design is based around the offensive potential of the 800 mm guns and the V2. BTW she's a very large target for every kind of attack and so it is mandatory to provide suitable defences... From here come the U-boot for the underwater patrolling as well the 3 x S-booten for surface one. Finally "some" air defence would complete: 12 x ME 262 Schwalbe, 6 x ME 309 plus SAM Rheintoechter.
The S-booten come out from the aft basin: in the section is shown the door sections opened.
The airplanes are in the hangar below the airstripes (but above the main armour).

Is it possible, you will do a more Bismarcky design? I always imagined that all H's would look like the Bismarck,ie no sub, only 14 floatplanes and no schnellboats

It's a great design though. ;)

There's no such thing as "nothing left to draw" If you can down 10 pints and draw, you're doing alright by my standards

Ehhh...being a Swede, I never for a second would imagine the Nazis naming a ship Ragnarök, i e in Swedish! Maybe Ragnarauch??? But that sounds butt ugly, doesn't it??? So, I'd not stick with that name... - besides, I think it's almost an insult to the Swedes to be connected to a Nazi project... 8-) ;)

H45 is a pure fiction: the last documented project was H44 and this is just "my H45" ... No glue with reality (and nazis).

Das Reich is a better name. Or Fuhrer.

But if you want Ragnarok, stick with it.

Where was she to be built?
Can she even enter the North Sea?

Still in all, she is a frighteningly beautiful ship- can't wait to see it when it is finished!
