I like the general concept.
Using French weapons on a British hull is a bit odd for the time period, but they do look surprisingly good on the Type 14.

I think having the gun aft is the most sensible idea. Mounting it forward would require major internal changes and by then you might has well just design a new ship.

Frogot to say earlier, you can find the AWS-1 and other British export radar sets on the RN parts sheets here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=65

The cheaper version I mentioned earlier with trainable hedgehog and Mk33 guns. Not so exotic, less effective, but multipurpose and cheap. This version can be easily converted from standard type 14 frigate.

Well, i think i managed to incorporate both Mk6 and Seacat to Type 14.
[ img ]

I've expanded forecastle like on Type 15 frigates, to accomodate Seacat GWS-20 with STD director. AWS-1 radar was placed on main mast, which is moved afterwards to compensate additional superstructure weight (we need to keep good seafaring abilities for a small ship for north Atlantic). Mk6 with MRS3 director are placed on the place of the Limbos. There will be some weight reserve (Turret w/magazine - 37 tons, MRS3 - 8.6 tons, Limbos - 2 x 35 tons). Targeting sonars removed , HF/DF and Porker(?) moved to secondary mast. Maybe the ship is not pretty, but i hope it is not overweighted and retain its hull strength. We received limited range AD frigate for UK and commonwealth countries, but i'm not sure Leopards are not better (couple of 114mm guns had better range). There is no ASW weapons even for defense, but maybe we can add a single Squid in front of the nose superstructure? (I'm not sure i want to, it is 10 more tons forward)

Both are nice. An export choice for ASW could be the Bofors 375mm mortar (quadruple version).

Last remaining variant is the CODOG Exmouth (2 X Proteus + 1 X Olympus).

Yes, a quite more potent launcher than Hedgehog. I will make this update too :)

About CODOG version - refit at 1966-68, this makes OTO Compact available... Maybe some 324mm torps too? From 1972 bofors dual 375mm ASW... Can be interesting refit.

note that the bofors mortar has quite some deck penetration and because of that ship impact! The hedgehog was almost 'bolt on' in comparision.
