When I was drawing RFA Fort Austin it gave me some problems to give the right impression of the vessel with the opportunities for official rails in the part sheet. I remembered I have had the same problem earlier, but then it was only a small part of the rails and therefore no big issue. But Fort Austin have almost half of the rails as nets so I felt obliged to draw such. I reckon other ships (from other nations too) also using more or less net railing. My wish and proposal are to have these in the part sheet.

Not every navy has railings like that...

I know that the USA, Belgium, german, france, dutch, italian navies dont use that colour of rope, and not even such a loose net between the metal.

Remember, only "offical" railing in the partsheets are the basic line-rail for deck-edges. All other are just like most of the part sheet stuff, something someone has drawn sometime to help others who don't bother to drawn their own parts. They are "suggestive", but not by any means intended to present the multitude of different net- and other shaped special railings there is and has been out there.
