this might help. KHT, that 57mm/70 you just redrew was the one listed as Mk 1 on this image, right?
[ img ]
also, I suppose there was also the TAK 120 without the launch rails on it?

the 120mm M50 is already completely redone, here: [ img ]
I have some reference for at least one 40mm mounting:

and I have some more refs for the mountings fitted on the dutch destroyers and cruisers, but I'd have to look them up. PM me if you want them ;) (the 15cm, the 57mm twin M1950, and the 40mm shown above, which I have not been able to exactly named but it was fitted on the friesland and holland classes)

I hope for some belowdeck parts if possible, of course :P

Yup, it's the Mk1. I use Swedish designations, since, well... Swedish parts. :P
I think the launch rails were mounted per standard, but I have a version without them as well. I'll edit it in later today.
Alright, then I won't have to worry about the M/50 :)
I think the image you linked was of the M/48 mounted on the Halland and Plejad classes(later recieved a plastic cupola for weather protection).

IIRC, the halland was about the same time era as the dutch holland class, so that might indeed be correct.
(and I would be happy if you would redraw it, as I am slowly starting on the holland/friesland designs, getting all parts ready and all, so it might help :P)

I hate to say this, but I don't think the 57mm and 120mm guns are anyway improvment from the current ones. The TAK-120 seems to be salvagable, if you could put a seccond round of thinking on to it, but the 57mm looks like ...not the actuall gun :? It seems to be going backward in time in what comes to the SB style... :(

Ok... I'll look into it. Anything special that seems wrong with them?
How do you mean with a step "backward in time in what comes to the SB style"?

The main proplem for the TAK-120 is that it looks too "fat" or... too long from rear to front. what sort of reference have you used in it?
And what I mean in obsolence is the lack of shading to present the angular changes in the structure of the turret...its now just black lines and grey...and the 57mm (as are all swedish post-war turrets) notoriosly difficuld to present in the SB style with their curved angles and so on. The latest version I did (as shown by ace) was what I figure it is supposed to be looking in SB style.

I focused mainly on the shape, using the blueprint on NavWeaps as a reference. I'll see to correcting the proportions though...
I see what you mean regarding the 57mm. I think I've missed the latest version though. Consider my render scrapped.

EDIT: Which version looks better? A or B?

i think the lower one.... still the rigth bottom edge (or the front) seems to come bit too streched out from the shape... But it could be something we cannot overcome with pixels and the scale...

This is what I would do.

- Edit, color, and gave it a bit more pronounced shading since.
- Edit some small details.
- Changed to foot of the turret to that one we can see on drawing.
- changed some details on the gun barrel.
