Other excellent books about the IJN are the three "Anathomy of the ship": "The Heavy Cruiser Takao", "The Battleship Fuso" and "The Battleship Yamato" all by Janusz Skulski, Conway.
Or the monumental "Japanese Cruisers of the Pacific War" by Eric Lacroix and Linton Wells II
