I thought I would do a "covert" version of this carbine for a nation in my AU, more effective for counter-terrorist units in that nation in urban environments. |

(Message from April 21, 2021) As I have revised the VG1, I wanted to pull other older versions off. In order to replace the content that would otherwise be missing from this post, I want to drop in two drawings from my early days, around 2016, I think. |

Went about getting a metric measurement. Unfortunately, since GB was scaled with Imperial in mind, getting metric right is very tricky. In this scale, a centimeter is 7.88 px long, as this meter is 788 px long, which isn't truly accurate to the minute difference, as we can't depict the value of 787.2576 pixels, where 3ft is 720px. Regardless, hope someone finds this useful if they choose to use metric. |

When I created the first GB drawings in 2008 I used imperial measurements as it was what I was familiar with as an American. You can easily convert metric into imperial and continue using the format and existing scale bar - you will just need to round off fractions of a pixel (not relevant even at this larger scale) |

I figured as much. I calculated a centimeter would be 7.88 (I think I'm getting those numbers right) pixels, which can be rounded to 8 pixels. I imagine that metric in GB's continuity can always be different from RL metric as the nuance doesn't matter too much, I assume.

As Dalamace introduced the AKV-521 on the Discord and wondered about a 5.56 STANAG magwell that apparently exists (although, I think he just confused it for the 5.56 complimentary magazine with an upper receiver change), I decided to add some work, primarily changing his signature metal grey to match the anti-corrosive coating that the AKV-521 and the AK-12 have, as well as achieving a 5.56 STANAG magwell by appropriating the Kalashnikov Concern SR1's magwell and mag release controls for this concept. I speculate that as time goes on, KalashCo may actually reuse the SR1's materials for use on the AKV-521 as the latter carbine is a Westernized civilian AK-12, and allowing STANAG magazines would have this come full circle. |
