Another d... fine badge from DG_Alpha :D The crest for the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, which ended her days as an experimental ship for the US Navy in the US nuclear programme.

I believe if not official, they were certainly recognised by the OKM throughout the war and before.

Essentially what Adeandy said, it's my understanding that it was up to the commanding officer to choose whether or not to have one and what exactly it would be, especially since these changed with new COs. However the Flotilla ones are basically official so it lends something to the others
