Research Vessel Meteor A modified gunboat of pre-WW1 days, she originally had not a crest, but one was added after one of her refits in the 1930s. The stylized comet is representing the ship's name, Meteor. The Iron Cross with the year 1871 was in remebrance of the Battle of Havanna during the French-German war of 1870/1871, in which one of her name predecessors (Camaeleon-class gunboat Meteor of 1865) participated. |

Fine badges you've done here DG_Alpha They are attached to templates now and are shown in what seems to be a very fine collection (of which you've done the most) on page 1 On Maomatic's "Kriegsmarine Deutschland and Scharnhorst class WIP" http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... =12&t=4933 I've found this, and attached it to the already made template: |

Hello again! Some badges of German WWI-era cruisers, maybe a few of them are good enough for the front page: Greetings GD |

They are just great It's a pleasure to deal with two such artist's as you and DG_Alpha. You both draw marvellous ships and adding to that excellent badges Thanks for your effort with the templates. It really helps a lot Now I mentioned DG, we must not forget his badge for SMS Magdeburg. All are now represented on page 1 in Kaiserliche Marine post |

Maomatic draw my attention to the fact that the Kriegsmarine's Admiral Scheer originally had the first shown badge from 1934 to 1937, and the second shown from 1937 to 1945: I have altered the templates on page 1 to reflect that Thank you Maomatic for enlightning me |
