Junkers Ju 52 on the Swedish register

The second production Ju 52 (fourth aircraft constructed) was used for trialling the aircraft for military applications.

The first production aircraft languished at Junkers without a buyer, but the second was acquired by the paramilitary German Air Transport School (DVS), and fitted with floats. Work had already begun on a multi-engined Ju 52, and this aircraft was fitted with the enlarged rudder that would become the definitive Ju 52/3m rudder.
In December 1932 the aircraft was transferred to Junkers' Swedish subsidiary AB Flygindustri and given a Swedish registration. Modifications were made to the aircraft to convert it to a torpedo bomber as the Junkers K.45c.
In 1936 the aircraft was reurned to Germany where it joined the target tug squadron based in Kiel-Holtenau.

OK, so I have been off for a while. The reason is cause I have been busy working on new aircraft. So have made a redone Junkers Ju-188 Series and the Focke Wulf FW-190 Series that I know hasn't been put on here yet, so that's done now. Anyways, hope you guys are doing good and enjoy this busy work of my own.

Cheers

Junkers Ju 52 replica

No single-engined Ju 52 survives, but the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada in Winnipeg has a replica of the sole Ju 52 that was operated commercially in Canada.

Only a single Ju 52 found life as a commercial aircraft, being sold to Canadian Airways in Winnipeg. Refitted with a Rolls Royce Buzzard engine the aircraft was operated until 1947 when lack of engine spares led to the aircraft being scapped.
In 1985 the museum purchased a demobbed Spanish CASA 352 (Ju 52/3m) with the intention of modifying it to become a flyable replica of the original single-engined Ju 52. To rebuild the aircraft to the original design involved considerable engineering work, especially to create the signature Junkers corrugated skin panels with complex curves. For a suitable engine, a Rolls Royce Merlin was selected, making the replica the highest powered Ju 52 installation. The original tail was not reconstructed and left as a Ju 52/3m tail, as the original small tail was marginal at best to counteract the power of the Buzzard engine, so the larger size was needed for the Merlin.
Retaining the registration of the original aircraft, the replica is still housed at the Museum in Winnipeg.
