I come bearing Some uber obscure 8x8 Trucks made for missile batteries

one American

Firstly the Ford M656 which was developed in the late 1960s to be used in tandem the Pershing 1a Surface-to-Surface Guided Missile (several specialized versions were also made, one being a Battery control unit and another being a "Tractor" to tow the Pershing Missile on its trailer) it was also the basis for the "BTR-60"s in Red Dawn (1984) despite what a lot of forums say (often claiming it was the Reo XM or one of the other PROTOTYPES which I doubt were still available by the 80s in any numbers)

and finally the Chinese Huanghe JN-252 from (what I can find at least) 1977/1978 which admittedly I couldn't find much concrete info on but it seems to have served an Identical Purpose to the Fords as they were used in tandem with Dongfeng-4 ICBM, I could only find photos for three types, one "chassis" at the Jinan Museum (main detailed source), the bog standard Transport variant, and finally a mystery variant with an apparently longer frame and LARGE structure on its rear, possibly a "Control Unit" for the missiles? anyway there was also a series of Prototype APCs made from the JN252 chassis which I am working on for their own page

one other detail about the JN-252 is that many claim it is a copy of the Tatra 8x8s but this is not possible, and the similarities are only visual (it also has a different suspension to the American XM types which seems to be oddly derived from the type found on MAZ type large vehicles similar to the scud carrier according to some sources (but scaled down significantly of course)

one early prototype looks almost identical to the American XMs (even featuring the SAME wheel design which was later ditched for production 252s so thats why I assume it is derived from them at least initially in the early 70s)

Funny thing... that Kamaz on your drawing looks completely identical (except for paint scheme) like ones made by Caddaric79, yet there is no mention of Caddaric in the credits. They even have lumps of double black lines in the same places, and both unexplicably lack black outline in several exactly same places where it could be expected. But probably it's merely a pure coincidence, right?... :twisted:
Btw. the wheels on the trailer looks to be made in a style completely different that those on Kamaz... and pretty much identical to ones on Pegasus206's Renault Magnum. So many interesting coincidences...
