In fact, the french order was the basis for the well known GMC 2.5 and 1.5 tons trucks of WWII. Cheers.

Splendid, these'll be useful to many I'm sure. Question though, why are the rear wheels completely shaded? are they very much inboard of the edge of the bed?

In other news, I was surprised to find there was no Mk.III Medium so here it is now

Hi, Char! Sincerlly, I tried to, but my results were far from being satisfactory. So I left it all with the darkest shading. I hope to improve this feature (but I will "steal" some ideas from veteran fellow bucketeers, because my attempts were futile🙃). Cheers.

M48 with Leopard 2 turret

[ img ]

A M48 body with a Leopard 2 turret. This vehicle was not a proposal for an active-service variant of the M48 for the German Army, but simply the easiest way to transport the Leopard 2 turret from point A to point B during its trial.
So far I only have seen two pictures of this vehicle without much information in Tankograd - Militärfahrzeug Spezial No 5011 (The M48 Main Battle Tank in German Army Service). So I don't know if it was a unique vehicle (most likley), or how long it was in use. The three track support roller instead of five, and the lack of the track tension idler wheel identifies the body as a M48A2C or later German version.
To fit the Leopard 2 turret they had to redesign the turret race. Not sure how exactly they made this, so that detail is probably inaccurate.
