Thanks!

On a Whiff forum I belong to, there has been talk of making Whiff M3/M4 chassis tanks. I created the "M6 Wheeler"

It's not so much of a whiff, the real M6 was partially derived from the M3/M4 as a heavy tank.

Klag, I stole the M6 Designation from that heavy tank, the M6 Wheeler is also a heavy tank but has the speed & mobility of the M4 with a diesel engine. It is also equipped with the 90mm/3" main gun. If you look closely the E8 turret is modified to accept the larger gun, although the M10, M18 and M36 were equipped with the 90mm/3". The M6 is also built under the re-write of history that after the Battle of Kassarine Pass, Patton and other Armor Unit commanders Demanded the Reorganization of US Tank Doctrine, that tanks fight tanks, not just for infantry support. The M6 that was already in the design platform was drastically redesigned along side the M10 TD, using the same parts, the M10 became more of a fire support vehicle and the M6 did the tank killing.

One point is that 3" is 76.2mm while the 90mm gun is like 3.5"

That's going to be hard to do - the M26/46 wasn't a true heavy tank like a Tiger but more like a medium tank with a really big gun (and the M26 with its petrol engine still had mobility issues). The M26 really was the US Army's version of the Panther.

Klag, I'm a student of WW2 history and specificly WW2 Armor. It's a Whiff, not RL, lol, so semantics are a little silly.
