The unbuilt A380-900 Designs. I've seen references for two options - a 6+4 frame stretch, and a longer 12+7 frame stretch (Referenced as 'Udvar Hazy'). Useful for all of your super-jumbo needs.

In the late 1970s, following the cancellation of the B-1A, there were serious proposals put forwards to convert a 747-200C into a cruise missile carrier, with rotary launchers holding between 50 and 100 AGM-86 cruise missiles. Basically this thing would sit a thousand miles away firing cruise missile after cruise missile at targets, presumably in the USSR, before returning to a base that could have been upwards of five thousand miles away for refueling and rearming.

The first scheme is based on one of the few colored illustrations of the proposal, with gaps filled in by speculation. The other two are pure speculation, based on similar aircraft in service at the time.

Lovely additions.

I was just reading about the ALBM carriers in the new book American Secret Projects: Volume 3, US Airlifters Since 1962, by George Cox and Craig Kaston.
Some interesting material in there too on the ALBM and ALCM variants proposed.

Focke-Wulf Fw 200 KB-1

The first foreign customer for the B-series Condor was Finland. 2 Aircraft were ordered and allocated the Fw 200 KB-1 designation.
These aircraft featured in the advertising for the 1940 Helsinki Olympic Games, and several display models of the aircraft were made.
With the Soviet invasion of the Winter War, the Olympic Games were cancelled, and the completed aircraft's export was embargoed.

Finland was still very keen to get the aircraft that they had paid for. Sweden had also expressed interest in their own order for Condors, and ABA were encouraged to take over the order. Swedish registration for the 2 aircraft was allocated, but the deal eventually fell over with the aircraft being impressed into the Luftwaffe.

Japan was the third international customer for the Condor, placing an order for 5 B-series aircraft as the KC-1. The aircraft were planned to be used in both Japan and Manchuria for long-range airline service.

With the start of hostilities in Europe, the 5 aircraft's construction was taken over by the Luftwaffe.
The Japanese had also expressed interest in a maritime patrol variant of the Condor. Focke-Wulf took over the prototype for the B-series airliner on the production line and converted it into the initial military model of the Condor. Again though the aircraft was impressed by the Luftwaffe before construction was completed, and no aircraft were supplied to Japan.

The Netherlands initially displayed interest in the Condor for services to the Dutch East Indies. However with the loss of the prototype in Manilla Bay KLM turned their attention to the Boeing 307 Stratoliner. With the crash of the Stratoliner with the loss of KLM executives, KLM returned to the Condor.

The Dutch wanted a pressurised fuselage and a shorter wingspan. The aircraft does not appear to have been assigned the expected KD-1 designation, but the design was allocated the D-series moniker and airframes were reserved for construction.
