There just seems to be something insane about landing one of these on a carrier.
Nice drawing though of an interesting concept.

This is a real concept from Fokker/Lockheed and was based on a F28 Mk.5000 and was not only offerd as a COD buth also as a Aerial tanker

And that's what's most insane about it. ;) But since it was possible to conduct successful carrier trials of C-130... ;)

Btw. perhaps this could be posted in never-were thread?
And one detail - something I genuinely don't know anything about it - was the planned COD variant genuinely supposed to keep all the passenger cabin windows?

that might have been the difference between COD and tanker variants, the lower one shows equipment that looks like refueling equipment. official fokker artwork seems to always show regular windows as well, IIRC.

It would be the same aitcraft as the F28 COD design would have two underwing hardpoints witch could be used for adding refuling pods. And would have folded wings , it would have on the left side of the aicraft a refueling probe like the A-4 skyhawk, and a big cargo door between the cocpit and wing.

And as far i know Fokker send one of it stock F-28 to the United States for some tests. So thats why the first picture would be with all the windows i think.

The lower would than be how it realy would look wen is service .
