Great stuff! I could have sworn it was a real design that never progressed past the prototype stage because it lost to the Hurricane in competition or something, before I remembered I was in the AU section.

Exellent!
Spats and retractable gear, could be a plus, but it's yet a great design!
Wild you give a backstory?
Can't wait for it....................... :)

With a powerful enough engine retractable gear on something like this is going to make a negligible difference as you've got all the struts and bracing from the biplane configuration.
I'm intrigued to know of your engine and armament choice... I couldn't see anything prior to indicate either?

Brits plane so... 2 or 4 Vickers .303 and Bristol Mercury engine.

That's a rather all inclusive statement.

I would say the armament is 4x .303in Vickers or 4x .303in Browning given the two troughs on the forward fuselage and the fairings above the engine.
The Mk.I looks to have a Bristol Mercury, the MK.II has a different cowling, might be a Bristol Perseus?

Haven't put much stock into what engines were used. LOL!

But the Mk.I has a Bristol Mercury Mk.V. I'll go with the Bristol Perseus for the Mk.Ia, and the Bristol Taurus for the Mk.II.

The Finnish Badger will probably be equipped with the Wright R-1820.

As to MG armorment, I hadn't gotten into anything more specific than the .303 cal. Although I'm thinking Vickers for the Mk.I and Mk.Ia, and Brownings on the Mk.II's.

Here's a slight update:

Thanks, Rhade, just did an update, and replaced the older image.

I love it, model Mk.I is absolutely stunning. It got that 30' style, mix of British(engine)-Italian(airframe and cockpit)-Polish(gullwing) look. At the same moment it's look very real, not AU but full historic accurate fighter. I would give hem a little different shape spats but it's just my personal preferences. ;)

Of course I ask for you permission to use it in my painfully slow build AU. ;)
