Nice...In our regiment, it tended to be sort of tradition that all the lads from my region that served in the Karelian Artillery Regiment were serving in the MRLS battery, but the system was retired in 2003 and I was conscripted in 2004, so went to traditional artillery instead...It propaply would have been nice to serve with "stalin's organs" just out of the curiositys sake.

I am also working on the Bundeswehr Eagle IV.

_____________

@Gollevainen: The RM70 seems to be a simple and good weapons. So several countries are still using it, like Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republik. Firing these weapons must be impressiv. Don't have the Finns now MLRS? But I like also the RM70, because it is so simple to use.

When I searched pictures on the internet for the RM-70/85, I also found some of finnish RM-70/85 in not perfect condition, seeming beeing some where stored or (waiting for scrapping?).

First they are called M270(MLRS). Second they weren't surplus. The Royal Dutch Army sold them because of cuts in the Defence Budget.

Good to hear that. I wonder now why Gollevainen couldn't serve in the RM-70/85 battery?

Weren't in my regiment, the Battery was disbanned in 2003...but then again, we served with the 155mm APU mounted Gun-howtizers which were just entering service, so the regiment was one of the top-of-the-notch artillery units in the finnish army back then...other artillery regiments or battalions from other brigades used older artillery at that timeframe.
