Lovely Audi Quattro :)

Here come more TAM trucks, the TAM 125 T10 is the improved model of TAM 5500, with new type of designation and modernized cab.

Well, the most of vehicles I have drawn as for now are made in some period 1960's-1980's but seen on roads across former Yugoslavia even today. These TAM trucks, with nose are produced since 1960's (TAM 4500, TAM 5000, TAM 5500 and TAM 6500), the latest versions of them are introduced in production from 1974 (this TAM 125 and the TAM 170 which is in WIP). The TAM trucks with cab over engine (TAM 130, TAM 190 and TAM 260) are produced in the 80's.

It is similar for the FAP trucks, the FAP 1314 with "nose" is produced since 1962. until 1992. (few models were produced in 2003. from parts that stayed in factory). The models with Mercedes-Benz NG series cab over engine are introduced in 1970's, at start the licensed MB 1213 (it had Mercedes sing on cab, and small plate with "FAP FAMOS license") and later the models 1620, 1921, 2226, and others, developed in late 1970's and early 80's.

Are they current? Well most of those trucks are current for sure in region of former Yugoslavia, but they are getting replaced mass in last 15 years with modern trucks mainly from EU. The TAM and FAP trucks are mass used by Serbian military, while civilian versions are pushed out from commercial use. You can find them mass with Fire units across whole former Yugoslavia beside new modern trucks. Also many construction companies and public waste collection companies use FAP dump trucks, water tankers and garbage trucks. Sometimes these models were exported and very popular among Middle East and African countries which had developed relations with former Yugoslavia, so you could find FAP trucks (mainly with Mercedes engine but also older FAP 1314 with FAMOS engine) in Iraq, Syria, Angola, TAM buses in Egypt and Syria...

If you search online for TAM ore FAP trucks, you can find a lot of images of old beasts still in service with 30-40 years! The most TAM truck former used by companies are now used in rural areas for logging, transport of beehives ore transport of cattle from farms to livestock market, a lot of FAP trucks are seen on countryside transporting cereals during harvest from combines to the silos.

And not very popular, but also seen usage of these civilian trucks and buses during bloody conflicts in former Yugoslavia since first days. They were used on barricades in Slovenia and Croatia when war started in 1991. and later in 1992. when Sarajevo was first time blocked, then for transport of troops and military equipment, as many vehicles were mobilized from companies during the wars for needs of Yugoslav army, then they were often seen in sad columns of refugees, and also again retreating Yugoslav army often used a lot of civilian trucks and buses for withdrawn, being again targeted by it's enemies.

There was also a lot of interesting war-made improvised armored trucks and buses, especially with Croatian forces in 1991. and Bosnian Serbs in 1992. which I have plan to make as soon as I finish these basic trucks and buses. You can ask free anything about any model I draw if you are interested in. :) Cheers!

Those Croatian variants will be very interesting. I cannot wait to see them. And also military TAM 110 and 150. We have some, but there are more out there.

DP, nice work with the G-5.
