Good afternoon. Well, this is the less "vehicle" gun of the series! BL 12 inch Mk, 47 tons in yoke mount, as seen in one of the Portsmouth Solent Forts.

First armed with 12.5 inch RML guns, from 1884 the artillery was replaced with BL guns, and due the restricted space, they used the yoke mount. Protected by armor (I think that it was iron, not steel), concrete and granite from the seaside, theese forts were very impressive. Cheers.

Good afternoon!
Thanks for the feedback! And please, don't give me bad ideas ;) !
Probably the most important and certainlly the one with most longevity british coast defence gun, BL 9.2 inch Mk X.

Almost 300 guns were the artillery of british forts worldwide. From the home isles, to New Zealand. Also was the main artillery of several RN armored cruisers and the secondary battery of King Edward VII class predreadnoughs. Finally, 4 Vickers made guns were adapted for railway use. Cheers.

Might I humbly recommend that the New Thread be called Fortifications?
And, I remember some other fortifications on this site, including Ft. Drum
in Manila Harbor.
