In the aftermath of Operation Tidal Wave, Romania repaired this B-24D, which was shot down over the oil fields of Ploiești. It was followed by two more B-24s that were captured after a air raid in April 1944.
Plans were developed for a bomber squadron consisting of exclusively B-24s (as Romania had tons of shot-down or forced-landed B-24s), but they only managed to get two B-24Ds and one B-24J airworthy before King Michael launched his coup in August 1944. The plan was eventually cancelled.

Interesting information. I hadn't realised that the Romanians had managed to repair and get a couple of B-24s airworthy again.

Another Japanese twin-engine, and it's from the same brand (Tachikawa had really interesting ones to be honest.)

Intended for long-range communications and transport with the rest of its allies, the Ki-77 had a maximum range of 18,000km, allowing it to fly from Tokyo to Washington D.C, New York City, Berlin, and London if the aircraft wasn't forced down due of enemy action or oil cooling issues (despite having the same Nakajima Sakae engine as the Mitsubishi A6M Zero.)

Only two were built; one went missing over the Indian Ocean trying to fly from Singapore to Hvardiiske in the Crimean Peninsula (presumberly shot down by British aircraft), and one was captured by Americans authorities at the end of the war, tested in Alameda, California, and scrapped afterwards.

I did some updating to Ashebourton's F-35 a bit ago to make it slightly more accurate as well as easier to recolor

(i swear this is the last aircraft by Tachikawa lol; i'll also do some whatif schemes for the three Tachikawas)

Intended as the successor to the Mitsubishi Ki-46 "Dinah", the Ki-70 was outfitted with a more powerful engine (the Mitsubishi Ha-104M 18-cylinder radial engine), but was heavier and slower than the Ki-46 (630km/h of the Ki-46 vs. 590km/h of the Ki-70).

Despite this, it first flew in February 1943 and was cancelled afterwards so the technical board of the IJAAF can focus on other designs.

Excellent additions from everyone.
Really nice to see these Tachikawa designs, they aren't well known and deserve some exposure in FD scale.
