East German Motor Rifle Company ca. 1985 with BTR70: ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/vl75Wxz.png) The motor rifle company had in the 1970s one or two snipers with SVD, later also two Strela-MANPADS-Operator. The company lost the SVD, problably because it was too large and it was planed to replace it with a AK74 with scope. The Strelas were regrouped in the 1980s in an air defense group on motor rifle battalion-level. The motor rifle sections also lost one rifleman in the 1980s, probably to have more space in the APC/IFV. |

I draw it for an other forum. I plan to do the whole motor rifle battalion. I made already a lot of research, but need to draw the MTP-LP maintenance vehicle. So it's possible, I will change to shipbucket style. |

East German Motor Rifle Company with IFV around 1988 ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/KOx0Aze.png) Translations/Abbreviations: Fhr = Driver Fk = Radio Operator Hfw = Company Sergeant Major KC = Company Commander MFK / Schreiber = Truck Driver / Clerk RS = Vehicle Gunner San = Medic StKCPA = Deputy Company Commander for Political Affairs StKCTB = Deputy Company Commander for Technics & Armament ZFhr = Platoon Commander The URAL truck carried part of the personell equipment of the soldiers, tools, water bags etc., the trailer infantry ammunitions and spare ammunition for the BMP's, including 40 ATGM. It was planed to have one Ak74 with scope per group. |

East German Mortar Battery ![[ img ]](https://imgur.com/43VbCHn.png) It is possible, that the mortar crews were reduced one soldier, so the fire platoons had only 20 instead of 23 respectivly 16 instead of 19 soldiers. |
