While doing some FD scale drawings I realised that we've never really mapped out a good way to logically lay out the size requirements of a cockpit.
So using a standard FD scale figurine I have created a seated pilot and shown some of the minimum dimensions to adequately fit a cockpit. I have included joystick and control wheel clearances as well as an instrument panel and a generic gunsight/HUD location for the eyeline. Aslo shown is minimum headroom. The pilot on the left is for a jet fighter with the likely seating position on an ejection seat. The pilot on the right is a standard pre-jet pose.
