https://forsvaret.dk/da/nyheder/2020/so ... fregatter/ The Royal Danish Navy's ABSALON-class flexible support ships have been formally reclassified as ASW frigates. The two-ship strong class will be refitted with new hull-mounted and towed sonars and assorted ASW systems, and the Seahawk helicopters will be fitted with ASW systems. Integration of all systems will be completed by 2026. Consequently, the two ships of the class have been given new pennant numbers: ABSALON F341 (ex-L16) and ESBERN SNARE F342 (ex-L17). |
