Post subject:  question about an upgrade to a Norwegian frigate
Today when F311 HNoMS Roald Amundsen, escorted into Oslo USS Gerald R. Ford.

She had a lot of upgrade on the electronic department.

My question, is what looks like a new upgrade on the radar mast on top of the Spy-1 mast. A ring around the mast. My question is what do you think it might be.

My guess is some kind of Electronic Support Measure antenna array.

might be, when I asked my stepfather that worked on the frigate project (He have radar as his work area, as an electrical engineer), back in the day (he have been retired from the navy some time). He is thinking it might be a new type off fire control radar

Being a ring like that I'd wager its an ESM array.
