Today is probably the most sad day in history of polish army after WWII. In one moment, on Highway 1 Ghazni province, IED kill crew of M-ATV. KIA: Starszy szeregowy ( NATO OR-2 ) Łukasz Krawiec, starszy szeregowy ( OR-2 ) Marcin Szczurowski, starszy szeregowy ( OR-2 ) Marek Tomala i szeregowy ( OR-1 ) Krystian Banach from 20th "Bartoszycka" Mechanized Brigade. This is a highest combat loss of polish soldiers in one day. :(

Rest in Peace, Brothers.
I worked with some Polish EOD once... great guys, real gentlemen, and very good at making things go *BOOM.*

The most absurd thing was ... that they come to base in large convoy from opening of somekind mausoleum, that was not a standard patrol. IED was big ... about 100 kg of explosive material, they have no chance. :(

Today another Polish soldier serving in Afghanistan has died, though this time it's not related (at least directly) to combat operations.
Sgt Zbigniew Biskup, 35, has died in field hospital at the Ghazni base.

Rest in Peace - for all of Them.
