Eight (or four) groups would be ideal so that the top two teams from each group would advance into the next round, but unless another group opens up it will still be the top sixteen teams advancing but they won't necessarily be spread evenly across the groups (so the top sixteen teams ranked by points, with goal difference, goals for and goals against acting as tie-breakers for those teams that may be even on points). What this means is that three teams from one group may advance but only one team from another group may make it through.

Group table in the original post has been updated.

It's Koko, not Kiko :P

Anyway, no one proposed new teams to fill an eight group?

Oops! Sorry about that, it should be fixed now and I think I got it right everywhere else at least :)

No-one else has contacted me with more teams at this stage...

Nice going, my proud players! ;)
In all seriousness, this is a great little event you've come up with Rowdy! Major props!
A minor nitpick/question: shouldn't the visiting teams be displayed in their guest colours(I'm thinking of the little cute dude representing each team at the top of the match boards)?

Well done, Rowdy36. Great idea.

Should have had 3 points off of North Point but I suppose, being from UK, I should be happy with a point! At least no players were bitten.

Well Rowdy, if you ever need fill ins, I've got five other colonies of Australia to play with

I've only be using the guest colours when the two uniforms look too alike (really only a problem in Group 6 though), but I might look in to having the visiting teams use their guest colours more often.

I am open to the idea of creating another group - if there is interest from enough teams - but if I do I will probably need some help running this thing (even if it is just small bits here and there) as with the seven groups I currently still have 44 more games to do...
