The barge are already arrived and on standby. They are just do the planing on how to. As the Navy say, it can happen tomorrow or later. The ship is secured, so I think they will go in with divers and close of sections and empty them out. There is an different company, that haven't received the mission, that have move a 800 tonn crane and have it on standby, in case they need extra stability help.

HNoMS Helge Ingstad is most likely a write off now!

At 6:00 in the morning, several wires that was holding the frigate, broke. the front end of the frigate went out and sunk.

Some experts says, that since the frigate have moved so much on the rock and gone under, she is most likely scrap.

This put also one of the most expensive equipment under water on the frigate.

knowing the Norwegian Government, if they can save some bucks to rebuild the ship, compared to build a new one...

I'm saddened, but not especially surprised. Her position looked quite quite precarious since her initial grounding, and ships just don't like to sit like that.

Sorry, heuhen. A rough day for the region. A silver lining: the loss was steel and silicon, but not sailors.

At least no human lost, the Navy keep praising the crew as among the best crew in the Navy, a crew that always got good results on missions and during exercise. Of course this is hard for the crew, but the Navy have put all available resources on to them and at the same time moved the crew to a new frigate, where they can work through this together and get back to the norm.

I'm not sure that rebuilding would be feasible unless the entire hull was stripped out and started from scratch.
It is a sad day, but given the damage sustained its amazing she stayed afloat that long.

Phowa
Now even the Aegis system was flooded
Slipping on the rocks further aggravated the damage on the entire starboard side
Ship now fully lost
RIP Helge Ingstad

When the wreck will be raised by the barge, interested to see the (very Extended :? ) hull-damage

The records of communications between the two ships are terrific.
