Had a cursed idea for the current challenge that I feel won't quite qualify under the rules as it requires an absurdly liberal definition of a "ship" but it did give me an idea for a really out there SB challenge:

The Sea Fort challenge. Draw an offshore structure designed to defend your nation's homeland against an external threat. The Time span for this would be any era which I feel would allow for a wide breadth of entries. Anything from the Solent Forts to Fort Drum to the Texas Towers would qualify.

I think the most important part about the challenges is how they draw people outside their comfort zone to draw something they normally wouldn't. Sea forts are something I've seen very few artists here attempt to draw so this would take that element of the challenge and dial it up a bit.

After reviewing the thread, I'd like to show my support to the following FD challenges that show promise and support from the community.

5th Generation fighter - there's a lot to have here specially projecting into the future, we will probably see three or four more decades of 5++ gen fighters operational.

Emergency Fighter - I expect this to encompass anything from the 1918 Fighter Competition at Adlershof to the Völksjager program.

SPAAG/SAM - Has been worded in many mutually-exclusive ways but an air defence system challenge might be awesome in FD, perhaps including as many vehicles within the system as desired.

Interwar/Late '30s/Early WW2 Bomber - B-17 challenge? Enter service about the time of the Spanish Civil war but becomes important later on?

Parasite Fighter - Any era for maximum potential, Zeppelin and 747 mothership fighters here we go.

Carrier Bomber - Has been worded as torpedo bomber and otherwise.

Hi all

How about a modern fleet auxiliary (AO, AE, AS, AG, etc?)

I also love the idea of a science fiction spaceship challenge. 3-view in SB-scale, of course.

Greetings
GD

I would like to remind everyone of erik_t's design of an nonconventional hull challenge for the next shipbucket challenge ;)
Also, my common hull design challenge, where I think some interest was shown back then ;)
