USS Texas (BB-35) departed her longtime berth at the San Jacinto battlefield for the last time today. Underway for the first time since 1990, she is being towed 40 miles to Galveston, where she will spend the next two years in dry dock getting some much-needed repairs.

This is the last dreadnought ever. That German battleship got scrapped because west Germany rejected Turkey’s offer. I hope nothing wrong happens.

she is already in dock, after what I understand, the hull was in better shape this time, then last time, due to things they have done internal.

It's great to see the ship is being maintained - going to see the battleship in Laporte with my dad is one of my best memories as a kid. There was something fun about driving through the refinery areas near the ship channel to go see the Texas at San Jacinto near the monument. I hope the new location is near Galveston or Baytown and not in Beaumont (very far drive and I think the visitation would suffer)
