I was wondering if we need some "tutorial" esp. for beginners after I read the discussion in "Mr. Hoovers Navy" ?

Since I was playing around with an interwar AU design I saved the different stages of the drawing process:

I think that could be helpfull with some explaining text and a short explanation of the current style rules?
well the hull shading isn't 100% correct. we do not shade the bow like that

Skyder is on the right track for the type of tutorials we want. If you think you can make a better version - please post it! Just making a comment saying "this isn't 100% correct" isn't useful, I need actual constructive commentary for the tutorials you guys want to see on the site...

A few things I plan to add shortly:

1. Railing examples and standards.
2. Note about anti-aliasing and its affect on text.
3. Note about the font size used in SB templates.
4. Link to whatever thread or resource has the templates.

Anything else you guys can think of?

Looks good.

Did we ever reach any consensus on the depiction of torpedoes above the ship on the missile line? I seem to remember some were fond of the idea and others less so.
To me it makes sense to do so, we show them on submarines for example, but I wondered if we had reached an agreement at some stage?

I've always shown them on the missile line for surface vessels. Submarines though, I find myself stacking them arbitrarily ahead of the tubes due to the fact that having to be illustrated horizontally they take up too much room if placed on the missile line.

Yes, I thought torpedoes on the missile line (and not above the ship) was the agreed-upon standard. I'd ideally like to do a "templates" page soon that will explain all this.
