Is there any sort of shipbucket scale that is the FD but with more pixels-per-foot? I feel like it might be nice for depicting naval battles and such, or showing the size of individual shells and/or their casings

Lol, a scale that's something, alas completely different? :P

In a FD scale ship of the size of Bismarck would already be ca. 5500 pixels long, and projectiles of it's main artillery would be ca. 9 pixels in diameter (calibre). I don't know what "more" You want. (leaving aside who would draw it)

That said, in theory (besides the Gunbucket scale), there's also a little-used Carbucket scale (20 pixels per foot):

But even ALVAMA wasn't mad enough to draw full-sized warships in this scale.

This is a free world for anyone to draw what ever they want and so. That said, we have our non-Sb subforum for all sort of things where people can share their experiments

I meant this as a tool for a more detailed drawing of the smaller, underappreciated ships. Thank you i guess?

FB scale actually does a really good job with small ships fwiw.

I voted "who da fuq are you bitch" just because the poll allowed.

To your question, no, there is no pre-existing set of drawings in a larger-than-FD scale for ships (assuming this is what you mean when you requested information on a scale that is "FD but with more pixels-per-foot"). You are of course totally free to make any drawings you'd like in such a scale - that's what the non-shipbucket forum is for. ;)

I think if we keep the line as sb scale, FD scale, carbucket scale and gunbucket scale, we have quite the lineup to draw anything you want in an fitting scale. That said, of course you are free to draw in any scale you want, but I have used carbucket in the past for the drawings of vessels less then 5m in length, which are nearly impossible in sb scale, and found it quite useful for that purpose.

Good morning:

Hi, I only have one suggestion for the gunbucket scale: Instead of being in feet, it can be in 30 cm or 305 mm, because SB and FD scales are also in the metric system.

Personally, I found SB scale very but very handly, ideal for big battleships and cruisers, very good for destroyers and frigates. For small vessels (fishing boats, MTBs, MCM boats, even FACs) SB scale is a big challenge (I will do them with much more experience), but even small drawings looks fine, and more important, having all in the same scale, you can have the correct idea of the real relative size. Cheers.

reytuerto,
SB based on an imperial measurement, 2 pixels per foot (12 inches).

Hi Hood!
Oh  ! Fortunately any of my drawings was big enough for making evident my wrong estimate of 1 pixel = 15 cm (or yes? In a 100 mt vessel, the acumulated 5 mm per foot, makes almost 2 pixels of error :? , I will count the length of my drawings once again). Cheers.
