Oops, during the upgrade the global announcements got moved into the admin forum for some reason. I moved the important ones to General Discussion so they should be visible to everyone again. Let me know if they aren't.

I also cleaned up some of the stickied/announcement topics... lots of outdated stuff.

The update looks nice, at the moment.

but is it me, or does it look a bit rough... or is it just due to that my computer are running at so high resolution :-P

It's basically the same as the old style, but the background is white. ;)

I really like how you've added the SB and FD scales to the relevant topic bars on the main page. That was something that was always missing on the old site that would have been really useful to newbies.

One thing I have noticed but I have been unable to think of a reason for. Some headings in 'Active Topics' have 'blue' font and others a 'black' font?

Blue font indicates an unread/unvisited link; grey indicates read/visited. ;)

Sorry that's not right. Its blue or black - no grey, (I visit / read everything - some of which can be very boring - others very interesting)

Read/Unread are still the same as previous site. I tried where I have put comments in, but that is also still as the old site with the black dot marking the ones with comments.

I looked at real/never were to other types of topics but that does not fit either.

It is really of academic interest only as it does not seem to make any difference to topic or content, just intriguing.

I'm not sure what you mean - I don't see any headings with black font. Can you post a screenshot? (now I'm curious)
