Hi, Charguizard.
Thanks! It is only matter of size! Coastal and siege artillery are bigger than field and mountain guns (and my expertise in detailing very small drawings is limited, at least until now)! And for some of the most interesting field gun of the era, the wooden wheels of large diameter blinds part of the tube, sometimes blinding the breech or the recoil mechanism (That is, at least in part, the reason for drawing the Whitworth BL gun: the long tube puts the breech far from the wheels, a problem of balance in the real gun, but a blessing for a drawing in fd scale). Cheers.

Good afternoon:
A siege howitzer certainly used a century ago during the 3rd. battle of Ypres:
[ img ]
This siege howitzer was the BL 15 inch, and was built by Coventry Works, and fired a powerful HE shell, but with a relative short range, so only 12 were built. They were manned by the Royal Marines. Here is depicted as in the Battle of Somme. Cheers.

Good afternoon:
Another heavy siege gun, this one is from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the powerful 42 cm autohaubitze M17, from the well known Skoda Works.
[ img ]
Originally built as a coastal defence howitzer in a turntable carriege with and armoured dome, but it was much more useful as siege artillery; even so, only 8 pieces were built.
After WWI, Czechoslovakia inherited one howitzer, which under czech service was known as 42 cm houfnice vz. 17, after en ocupation of the country by German forces, it was known as the 42 cm Haubitze(t).
Its is depicted as in the western front 1940, in a dunkel grau paint schemed. It was used to shell the Maginot Line at the Ouvrage Schoenenbourg, and later to shell also Leningrad and Sevastopol. Cheers.

Good evening:
Thanks for your feedback! As I had already said, it is as important as the guns!
[ img ]
A Vickers gun, but not firing under british colors: The well known Model 31 AA gun. It saw extensive service in Finland (chambered to 3 inches), Romania and many captured pieces from the Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium by the germans. Here, depicted as a dutch (in Europe) gun, and as a captured danish gun in the Wehrmacht. Cheers.
