F4K Phantoms known in the RN as the FGR1 with an extra long nose wheel strut to improve angle of attack on take off due to the shortness of the catapaults.

Phantoms? You mean F4s?
Well, Yes and No, Their RN/RAF Designations were FG.1 (Fighter/Ground Attack) Phantom and FGR.2 (Fighter/Ground Attack/Recon) Phantom but the US's designations for them were F-4K & F-4M.

The British Phantom (in US F-4K, for the RN, and F-4M for the RAF) was modified to use Rolls-Royce Spey engines (and as mentioned by Bombhead the F-4K had longer nose-wheel struts). The Spey engine had a wider diameter than the GE J79 engines. Only one Squadron of F-4K was operationally employed on HMS Ark Royal (No. 892 sqn) untill 1978, when she was retired and the aircraft were transffered to the RAF.

This ship gets better and better.

Darth, great additions for the planes. I had drawn a Scimitar a long time ago but yours is better. I love the way the Scimitar looks, a real brute and yet subsonic. Just a solid peice of British ironmongery! The Sea Vixen is 200% better than the one drawn some time ago by someone else who I can't at this moment remember.
