Ok I have revised my Mk 45 Mod 4 drawing using the OEM's dimensions:

http://webspace.webring.com/people/du/u ... 5MOD4B.jpg

It is still very different to the legacy drawing. Especially the roof, I had to add in an extra pixel just to show some slope there and my drawing has a lot less pixels showing this. Also added in some extras from the FMC drawing and drawn in the DDG 51's special raised turret ring stealth shield.

Here is the never built US Mk 66 twin barrel 127mm gun. Like a US version of the Soviet AK-130 but 10 years earlier.

http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNUS_5-54_mk65.htm

The drawing is by hand from the one picture on the navweps.com webpage. Could be a bit off but using proportion and the standard barrel length it should be as close as we will get it until some old archive is turned over.

I want this for my Royal South African Navy AU - no such thing as shooting too many rounds down range at the target!

It doesent look quite right. According to the picture you see on "navweaps .." it looks like a smaller version of the 8" turret that those Americans made.

I believe erik_t drew it a while ago for one of his mega ships.'

Edit: Here it is. It's the one on the stern

Here's a mashup of all of the (modern) US medium guns that fall into real or never built:

Edit: Because some people don't use more complex programs I've edited it.

You could not put it up on plain white background for us that use the good old paint?

My Mk 65/66, 155/55 and advanced Mk 45 are all freehand as well, so I make no statement regarding whose is more accurate.
