I will ask a stupid question ... all rdy ?

I almost only draw planes with fixed undercarriage, in that case I have no problem with height of plane. But when I start making one with retractable gear I hit one problem ... they give me hight with lowered gear or with hide ?

Typically accepted measurement of aircraft height refers to height from the ground of standing aircraft and therefore with gear down.

It was really tempting to be cruel, but apparently my heart is too soft. :P

Easy to solve, draw the top view first based on wingspan.

I think he means to scale it by using the wingspan, assuming that your reference includes a top veiw.
