Rowdy, you DEG is a very smart-looking ship, a real eye pleaser. However (there's always one after a little flattery! ) I'd raise both funnels (or macks), some six-eight feet to clear the bridge and the close-by electronics from potential hot fumes. I'd also save some displacement by discarding the aft mast tripod, and instead set the SPS-52 on a platform in front of the funnel casing a la the Audaces. This makes me itch to post my creations too, though...

Decided to drop the Dewey class and made a new one. This is the Fletcher class DEG.

Fletcher class DEG (later FFG)

Length: 112,3 meters at wl, 121,3 meters oa.
Beam: 12 meters.
Draft: 5 meters, with sonar 7 meters.
Displacement: 3300 tons standard, 4500 tons fully laden.
Propulsion: Two Westinghouse steam turbines producing 70,000 shp driving one propeller.
Speed: 33,5 knots fully laden, 35 kts at standard displacement.
Range: 4000 nm at 20 kts.
Aviation facilities: 1 hangar for 1 Kaman SH2-Seasprite.

Sensors:
1 AN/SPS-10 surface search radar.
1 AN/SPS-37 air search radar.
1 AN/SPS-39 3D air search radar.
3 AN/SPG-51 Tartar fire control radar.
1 AN/SPG-53 gun fire control radar.

So far my only concern is topweight, (thinking of dropping the bridge structure down a level but this would be at expense of visibility forwards). Though it now comes 250 tons underweight fully loaded so the diet was worth it

I'd go ahead and drop the bridge a level, fair the forward mack in the bridge and maybe even drop the aft Mk 11. You will also not be able to fit an ASROC reload magazine through your aft mack

It also looks like your aft missle luncher would take out your ships small boat when it was fired.

Indeed, the idea is that it's supposed to be a follow-on design to an earlier conventional general-purpose/ASW destroyer.

Name of that thread will also explain You why it's named Volcano.
(Initially the ASW variant was to be "Volcano" - to fit to "DD Krakatau" thread where it was born - and the AAW "Tsunami", but since volcano's fire into the sky is more fitting to the AAW ship I switched their order )

Thats also really nice looking desing. I would personally perhaps replace the Asroc with some ligther ASW rocket system (Bofors??) but thats just me...
