Well, I think we all can agree that quality level of KimWerner's work is never below the highest category. ;)

Thank you Eswube. I definetely trying to do my best. Meanwhile as I progressing in my work with the serie of HDMS Vædderen I'll upload this one. It's my WIP for Vædderen in her 2006-2007 configuration, where she was equipped for the Galathea 3 expedition. The reason for uploading is a question I've not succeeded to get the answer on. Why is the underwater hull painted totally in black? (Normally her painting is the same as the other Thetis class vessels). Is it because this black paint has some special protecting against micro organism in different climatic waters? (The expedition was in all type of climate). Or is it because the normal red painting isn't good, when you make maritme scientific research? I'll hope some of you knows a lot of ship painting, so my curiosity can be stimulated ;)

I'm not a specialist by an means, but I gather that there are at least two categories of anti-fouling paint, a softer, less biocidal for colder waters, and a more effective one for all climates. The effectiveness of the paint most certainly does not determine its color directly, but if (and that's a big if) the standard Danish Navy anti-fouling is cold-water-only, they could have switched to a more effective one for a long-range all-weather mission.
I assume that other Danish ships have ventured outside of the North Sea, e.g. in Somalia? Do you have pictures to check what anti-fouling they were sporting?
Another hypothesis would be that the original red paint isn't up to civilian environmental standards, but I find that doubtful these days.
Ship still looking good like this, by the way,

It was a trial of a new type of silicone based anti fouling paint.

I often see here in Norway that coast guard ships and Navy ships have either read or black hull color. I think the black paint is quit good. m old boat have the same fouling paint as the frigates (my stepdad got it for me trough the Navy), I haven had to repaint my hull for the past 6 years, just clean it and it's ready for next season.

The research of the Thetis class had given me more trouble than expected. Though I've got connections and they are vessels in my own country, I meet some obstacles under way. But now I have detected, that this anti fouling underhull painting was given to all four vessels of the class in 2005 - 2006. I have therefore edited the post at page 5 and 6 with HDMS Hvidbjørnen and HDMS Thetis ;)
I think I'll be ready to present the line up for HDMS Vædderen in this weekend. Especially the 2006 edition (the Galathea 3 expedition) was (and is) some of a challenge. It's nearly a total different vessel compared to her normal function
