M1940 is one of three subclasses of the M class - standard minesweeper of the Kriegsmarine.
127 of these ships were built and some of them were still in service in foreign navies in the 1990's (as corvettes).

Initially I wanted to base the drawing on the SS Panna Wodna, which in her turn was a modified version of the M1940, but I ended up re-drawing it from scratch, so they are slightly different ;)
I'm planning on drawing a couple more variants of this ship.

And here is further development of the M class - type 1943.

P.S. As there's no a Kreigsmarine parts sheet I had to salvage guns and some equipment from Gollevainen's German destroyers.

There is no problem with using parts from exiting drawings, so long as they are correct for the ship being drawn.

The common ancestor of the previous two - M1935. It was a little more capable than M1940, yet about twice as expensive to build.

Some details might not be very accurate due to lack of source materials so if you notice anything wrong please let me know.

Do some research and make a good mix of both and it will be perfect!

I'm not quite sure but some of my sources could be the modified 1935/39 version.
