Prove that! I have info to the opposite! Besides, your flute ends at the bottom, not at the break, making it an impossible solution! Trust me when I say this, my friend:I've researched these vessels very, very thoroughly! I planned to draw the Indy as of 1935, but life happened, so no can do...

The stern of the Northampton looks rounder, especially at the bottom

Karle seems to want to just trace everything and have a bunch of drawings to his name. There's no research or careful study involved. That's what bothers me the most as it's completely contradictory to what I do...

To each his own, I guess. There is NO REQUIREMENT that Karle use the "correct" parts, after all. Shipbucket artists are free to use whatever parts they want - the parts sheets just exist to make things easier for people.

What I mean is the ship itself. Boats, weapons and electronics will be taken from the appropriate parts sheets. The USN plans for the Portland class is only to get the general lines of the ship in place. Cant do that too well by only using close-up pictures of the superstructure and far-away images at 60 degree angle.

BY ALL MEANS, use tracing to get the proportions correct! At no point was I ever suggesting that tracing is a bad way to do things! :P I'd say 99% of Shipbucket drawings are traced! The majority of mine are, for sure. What I meant was that you should trace something that's accurate - like original yard plans - and not some Deviant Art idiot's idea of what the ship would look like. ;)

That is where the image you posted earlier comes in. I know I`ve seen it before, maybe I forgot that I saved it, then thought I did, and as a consequence, ignored it.

I'm glad that any potential conflict was solved amicably BEFORE a Moderator had to get involved...
