Just the volga? Petr Veliky is basically the fastest and most powerful Battleship afloat until Yamato and Iowa shows up

More jaw-droppingly good work!

Petr Veliky is indeed a beast, perhaps something for the N3 to match against in this AU?

Great work Golly, those BB/BC drawings are massive ships and would certainly have fitted in with the pre-Washington Naval Treaty race.

After lurking for some time here, I can only say that this AU is stunningly well-done! [ img ]

I love the destroyers and the gunboats, plus the reworked vessels that were originally from the old Byzantine/Komintern AU like the Matrosovs and the Petr Velikiy. :)

Yeah Petr Velikiy is based almoust 1to1 on the rather well know neverwhere battleship project of Kostenko for the Black Sea fleet. The remarkable speed was supposed to be achived with the 120 000shp machinery. However unlike other aspects of the design (armament and armor scheme) is not that well documented. Due note that the somewhat thin belt of just 275mm dims the line between fast battleship and battlecruiser.

Well actually its from Sergei Vinogradov's book about the Russian battleship projects, but that site you posted basicly has the english summary of the book. The original referencedrawing found on that page also by Vinogradov.

There were indeed few other interesting battleship and battlecruiser projects, sadly I couldn't include more of them as I want to keep this AU at least nominaly plausible.

Anyways I've now started to work on the Soviet era fleet, I'll post next the "ships returned to service" section after the Revolution sometime soonish.
