Joking aside; these examples illustrate a point, that on this forum Personal Designs and AU are submitted as secondary to Real Designs (the main reason this forum exists). This means that we have more folk who take an interest and who are qualified to offer a critique of any drawing, but particularly something from our own imaginations. Looking at some of the worst examples here, if they were submitted on this forum the perpetrators would at best be given some much needed advise, and at worst encouraged to go play elsewhere.

It is a pity that these awful efforts may be taken to be representative of the Alternative History Discussion Board; there are some seriously good Alt History projects there that we could all learn from (no large fleets based on economies unable to sustain these). And I'm afraid I got caught into scrolling that particular thread - got to page 40 and had to be dragged away!!

Like I said, actually quite a few flashes of imagination in there, but for the most part, everything is either poorly drawn, outright forgettable, generic, and uninspired, or outright stolen/re-purposed from other sources. Oh, and there are some real gems in there too. These are but a few that I spotted (and not even the most egregious ones, just ones that I thought were most...interesting)

For the most part they really do speak for themselves, presented without comment, like:
