Okay on the first.
As for the invisibility.. bull poop. Directors aren't that small. Go look at any of the era battleships on the archive. They all have directors on them.

Given that the rangefinders alone could be up to ten meters long, they are going to be very visible.
Also, they weren't installed in the fighting tops.

Form-based? First time I've heard that. It suffises to say that a competent naval designer would let function go before form, from which follows that form comes with function. But it's your design which we have to respect.

Most of the ships,tanks, and aircraft I designed would most likely not work in real life but they look good on paper and that's more over what's important to me.

ahh in that case the fore director is the sqare thing on the top of the pilot house.
