found the CAM missile on RP1's Type 26 drawing so Aster out and CAM in........ previous post updated.

And now for fun I wondered what a large missile cruiser would be like if I had New Cromer build a hull and install the US Ticonderoga hardware on board.
this design will not be in the AU but I got board..........

it would then look nothing like an tico :P
reason? the tico is developed from the spruance. the spruance has it's blocky superstructure and offset stacks. a new build hull, of an different design, has very likely nothing from the spruance superstructure as base, and would thus have quite an different shape :P it might even be a lot more burkish :P

on a sidenote, that hull shading looks awful!

I find that open stern to be WAY to low. Having seen the Ticos at high speed first hand you are asking for trouble. Closer her up!

@Ace the hull shading is straight off the type 22 batch 3 in the archive, this was a quick cut and shut.

so i've replaced the aster missiles with CAM Quad packs so in the 2x4 she should hold 32 missiles. on advice the artisan should be able to handle all her radar needs so a wee bit of a back story.
New Cromer purchased 4 Ex RN leander class frigates in the 90's as a stop gap measure to cover a dire hull shortage when most of New Cromer's frigate force was tied up on other duties. the 4 ships bought were the RN Sea wolf converted ships and were used as escorts for carriers while the larger more capable frigates were used elsewhere.
in the 2000's the ships were proving a nightmare to keep operational but even with the arrival of the 4 EX RN type 22's in 2013 the additional hulls were still found busy chasing down pirates, people smugglers and etc off the african coast. new ships were needed add the this the removal from service of the Exocet and the Sea Arrow missile on New Cromer's Type 42 as a cost reduction as the navy wanted to have just one ASM Harpoon.
the loss of Exocet and the lack of a gun severely limited there usefulness, however there ability to operate Helicopters and a ships boat meat they were still decent anti pirate and smuggler vessels. but a new ship was needed enter the BAe Corvette design. her main roles will be to replace the 4 Leander on these anti piracy and smuggling but have the additional punch of Harpoon if called on to do other missions. they are to be more capable that the River class OPVs but cheaper and less capable than a Frigate.
im considering removing the raise platform rear with the chaff dispensers on or the torpedo tubes aside the funnel and fitting side by side RIB's and a small handling crane....

when people no longer use hull shading that both looks bad and does not represent any real ships shape, I will.
until that moment, there are no words that can simply say 'ugly and wrong' in any nicer way, in my opinion.
