The picture posted in OP is well-documented April Fool's joke (should be obvious), everything else is legit.

The KV-1 was developed from the SMK as a cheaper alternative, not the other way around.

They really wont today when one of the main aims of tank design is a low silhouette. That, and why would you need anything other than a few machine guns and an enormous everything killing gun :P
