Yeah, as stated on Discord these are at the extreme upper limit of what can be represented in SB scale. The plan views are just the icing on the cake. Char should be drawing in a vector format!

Fantastic drawings!

One stylistical remark - a quiet opinion - personally I think that it would look better if the shades (also on the underwater hull) used (quoted after Style Guide) "to demarcate angular breaks in the superstructure less than 90 degrees in angle" was significantly darker, more contrasted, as right now these lines don't differ much from panel lines and the like (possibly also to use darker shade under overhangs and so on).

I'll add to the chorus and say excellent work, I'd hazard a guess this is as much detail as one can add to a drawing before FD/Tempest's scale becomes the viable option

I was waiting for a long time to see Hatsuyuki class in SB-Scale. And here there all all ships built, not only one. Well done! and continue the amazing work!

Thanks everyone for the kind replies, it's exhilarating to be encouraged like this.

Sea Sparrow, being a surface-to-air missile, should be shown vertical on the armament-line, not horizontal ;)
I've corrected the issue with the Sea Sparrows (oops  ), please do keep it coming if you see anything amiss.

Great job! Do you have plan to do more JMSDF ships?
Once I'm done with this class, down the line I would like to do up to three more classes for which I have some references now. If you'd like to exchange worklists over PM that'd be great.

This... is a subject I quite enjoy and like to experiment in, first version I did got stopped at the Discord for being too light and not having enough contrast on the railings (thanks Ro-Po and Colo), the version you see now uses a palette very close to SB standard grey but adds an extra tone, needed for the darker deck. I'd like to finish this class on this palette for expediency's sake and then try something new on the next ships I draw.

Next ship coming soon tm

DD-131/TV-3518 Setoyuki (せとゆき) channel snow

B: Mitsui, Tamano L/D: '84/01/16 L: '85/07/03 C: '86/12/11 S: converted to training vessel '12/03, in service (2018)

This is Setoyuki as Training Vessel 3518, seen as arriving at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, on June 3, 2014, for a scheduled port visit. Setoyuki's mast top structure is different from her sisters, taking advantage of the rear support members to place another full platform at the top, from what I can gather, since the ship was built. This platform and an additional one above the OPS-18-1 surface search set carry numerous electronic equipment, surpassing her sister-ships. Besides this her gear is standard for late Hatsuyukis. She carries four Harpoon canisters per side. I haven't found photographs of Setoyuki with an SH-60 on board so I have omitted it.

I've updated the front page as well, hope you like it!

Yeah, I don't think that it's possible to cram any more detail in there without changing the scale. Dayum.
