I was gonna say, I'd peg that as a DDG, around 4500 tons. Certainly I would finish it though.

Blackbuck the design is pretty interesting but wouldn't a better ASW chooper than the A-III be available?

The A-III was an excellent helo for its size and when properly maintained, which was fairly easy btw, it had an impecable service record.

It's a flying egg beater....a category I also place the Wasp in. :P At least the Bell is an improvement, but I still think he could manage a Sprite.

Bronies are like the Forsworn. Everyone agrees that they are a problem but nobody wants to expend the energy rooting them out.

my apologies for the slow progress of the first post tutorial.... my design is 60% finished but I did not have had any time to finish the tutorial. I am going to lissabon for 5 days starting tomorrow, so it might be only after that.... but then I will finish it immidiately. I hope I do not let anybody crash with that who was following my steps......

As lurker for this thread, I must say this is the first realistic looking design in this 'competition'. A great own design and fine Shipbucket drawing!

My first Batch of ships is finish (I think!)

I drawn them as a Escort with a higher hull to make her a bit dryer in bad weather. She has a larger beam than other vessels from the same era, for better stability.

Speed: 33 knots max, 30 knots standard.
Range: Batch 1: 4200 NM at 20+- knots, Batch 2: 5000 NM.

Sensors:
1 AN/SPS-10 surface search RADAR
1 AN/SPS-37 air search RADAR
1 AN/SPS-39 3D air search RADAR
2 AN/SPG-51 Tartar fire control RADAR (Batch 2: 3 AN/SPG-51 Tartar fire control RADAR and WM20 "EGG")
1 AN/SPG-53 gun fire control RADAR
hull mounted sonar and towed sonar (Batch 2 has a improved towed sonar).
some communication systems.

Armament:
Batch 1:

2*5in guns

2*triple Torpedo tubes for ASW.
Some Depth charges (Depends on mission)
